Free Pre-Sale Valuations
The first step in the process is to arrange a consultation and there are several options available, they are as follows:
- In person at the Saleroom - a Valuer is available Tuesday to Thursday from 10.00am to 11.00am.
- Email - simply forward an image and a brief description to us using the Consign With Us feature and we shall get back to you with an estimate.
- For larger items or if a property required to be cleared then an auctioneer can visit you at home. Please call our office for an appointment.
Probate & Insurance Valuation
Additionally we offer a wide range of valuation services to include probate insurance and family division. We understand that this can be a difficult time and we pride ourselves on our ability to provide a speedy and efficient service that can be tailored to suit individual or solicitor requirements. Upon completion of the valuation all relevant copies shall be posted within 48 hours.
- Valuation fees are charged by the hour.
House Clearances
Undertaking the clearance of a property can seem daunting but we are happy to offer a no obligation estimate to clear properties of any size and full or part house clearance services can be arranged. These are carried our sympathetically by us and a full collection service is available. We can clear the entire contents of the property and place all saleable items into either a general household and interiors auction or an antique sale. Additionally we can arrange for the remaining house contents of no saleable value to be disposed of, leaving the house completely empty and ready for the market.
Packing & Shipping
We do offer a limited packing service within the UK and at the Auctioneer's sole discretion. As we are restricted to what can be included in this service, it is advised that you check with the office before bidding. For instance we can only pack single lot items with a value below £500 and we DO NOT post glazed paintings or mirrors, extremely fragile items to include pottery, porcelain and glass, arms and weaponry, or heavy and large sized goods.
Our service charge for posting and packing is £15.00 for small items (approx. shoe box size - using Royal Mail Special Delivery) and £20 plus VAT for larger items or items over 2kgs (using Parcel Force 48).
However all clients must agree to absolve Franklin Browns Auctioneers & Valuers against any loss or damage that may occur whilst using Royal Mail Services or Parcel Force Services. All liabilities are with the buyer.
For the majority of purchases (under 30kg) we confidently recommend Mailboxes for the shipping of your items. They collect, pack and dispatch your items in the most cost effective way, to UK and International Addresses. They can be contacted on 0131 556 6226. Email info@mbeedinburgh.com
